Information For Authors

Authors may include:

- PhD students, in collaboration with their supervisor;

- individuals holding an academic degree;

- individuals engaged in research and teaching;

- heads of organisations in the real sector of the economy.

Articles co-authored with Master’s students will not be accepted for publication.

 

Manuscripts that have received favourable reviews in accordance with the established procedure are recommended for publication in the Journal of Economic Research & Business Administration in the order in which they are accepted for publication. The journal’s editorial board reserves the right to accept newly submitted manuscripts for publication out of turn if they are of interest to the academic community and contribute new insights to the subject under investigation.

 

Articles are published in the journal via the Open Journal System (OJS), an online submission and peer-review system.

 

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished and not currently under consideration by any other publication.

 

Language of the manuscript and required metadata

 

Languages of publication: Kazakh, Russian or English.

 

The following are required for each article:

• author details (full name, affiliation, country, contact details, ORCID);

• designation of the corresponding author.

 

The following are required for all articles: a title, an abstract and keywords in three languages – Kazakh, Russian and English – regardless of the language of the main text.

It is recommended that the abstract be at least 150–300 words in each language, and that there be 5–7 keywords in each language.

 

Submission of the manuscript via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform with the mandatory submission of a cover letter.

The manuscript must be submitted exclusively via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform by the corresponding author, with the article metadata and the details of all co-authors completed.

The cover letter must contain:

• confirmation that the manuscript has not been published and has not been submitted to other journals at the same time;

• a declaration of compliance with publication ethics and the correct use of quotations and citations;

• disclosure of any conflicts of interest and sources of funding or support (where applicable).

Communication between the Editorial Office, the author(s), and the reviewers is conducted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. In exceptional cases, communication may take place by email.

Article length

• Recommended length of the main text (excluding the title, author details, abstract, keywords and reference lists): 3000–7000 words.

• An article by the same author (whether written alone or in collaboration with others) may be published no more than once per calendar year.

 

File Formats and Formatting Requirements

File formats:

·     Accepted file formats: .doc, .docx, and .rtf.

·     GRNTI code: The GRNTI (State Rubricator of Scientific and Technical Information) code should be indicated by the author in the upper right-hand corner of the first page of the manuscript. The GRNTI classifier is available online at  http://grnti.ru/.

Technical Formatting Requirements

·     Font: Times New Roman.

·     Font size: 12 pt (10 pt for the abstract, keywords, and references; 9–11 pt for the text within tables).

·     Alignment: Justified.

·     Line spacing: Single.

·     First-line indent: 0.8 cm.

·     Margins: top/bottom – 2 cm; left/right – 2 cm.

·     Figures and tables: Figures and tables should be inserted within the text and numbered consecutively with appropriate captions (e.g. Figure 1 …; Table 1 …). Any reproduced or adapted material must be accompanied by an appropriate source citation and used in compliance with copyright requirements.

Recommended structure for the article

The following structure is recommended:

·     introduction (relevance, problem statement, aim/objectives);

·     literature review;

·     methodology;

·     results and discussion;

·     conclusion;

·     references.

 

It is recommended that the following be included in the manuscript (usually before the reference list):

• Funding (source or a statement that no funding was received);

• Conflict of interest (presence/absence)

• Ethical approval/consent – if the study involves human participants or personal data (surveys, interviews, etc., reference);

• Authors’ contributions – this section must specify each author’s contribution in accordance with the CRediT taxonomy. The ‘Authors’ contributions’ section is mandatory for manuscripts with two or more authors. https://credit.niso.org

• Data Availability – if data, archives, corpora or code were used: how access is provided or why access is restricted;

• Author details (to be included after the reference list, link).

References and Bibliographies (APA 7th edition)

References and bibliographies must be formatted in accordance with the APA style guide (7th edition)

Examples of formatting are provided in the TEMPLATE

 The list of references must contain at least 20 sources. At least 50 per cent of the references must be publications in English published within the last five years, and must be from peer-reviewed scientific journals indexed in the international databases Scopus and/or Web of Science. For review articles, the References section must contain 50–100 sources. For all sources assigned a DOI, it is mandatory to include this identifier.

For articles in Kazakh and Russian, the following are also required: a ‘References’ section in English. If the reference list includes works written in Cyrillic, the reference list must be provided in two versions: the first in the original script, and the second using the Romanised alphabet (transliteration – translit-online.ru). For articles with the main text in English, no additional transliteration or bibliography in Kazakh or Russian is required.

It is recommended that the following be included in the manuscript (usually after the reference list):

• Information about the authors (in three languages). This section should include your full name, place of work and job title, academic degree and academic rank, as well as your contact details (email and telephone number).

Plagiarism Check

All manuscripts undergo a plagiarism check. Manuscripts are sent for peer review provided that they are correctly cited and have an originality score of over 80% according to the results of the check.

 

Peer Review and Decisions

The journal employs a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is sent to at least two independent reviewers.

Possible outcomes: Accept as is, accept after minor revisions, refer for substantial revisions, reject

Each published article is assigned a DOI (registered via Crossref).

 

Publication fee

 

The publication fee is 60,000 tenge per article and is payable upon acceptance of the manuscript. Payment does not influence the editorial decision and does not replace the peer-review process. Proof of payment (a receipt in PDF or JPEG format) should be sent to the editorial office’s email address.
